Make sure your atty's post holes are big enough for your coils. If you squeeze the legs to make them fit, you'll almost certainly end up with a permanent hot spot where you squish them, and the coil will be ruined.

 

Braided coils are more fragile and require more care during installation and dry burning. When putting the coil into your selected atty, be cautious and careful not to warp or bend it out of shape. Start the heating process at 10 watts and gradually increase the power until you reach a maximum of 50 watts. You should have been able to gently squeeze, stretch, wriggle, and jiggle all the hot areas out using 50 watts. Strumming might shorten the life of your coils, so avoid it. If you dry fire your coils at a higher power than 50 watts, you will shorten their lifespan. Keep the heat low and avoid allowing them to glow.

 

It's advised that you clean your coils on a regular basis to make them last as long as possible.
